My wife Noreen and I retired to Grove in 1999, joining her sister and family who have lived happily in Wantage for over 40 years. Presently I am the coordinator of our local Neighbourhood Watch and a serving member of the Wantage & Grove Neighbourhood Action Group. I have a keen interest in local environment matters, and am aware how much the antisocial behaviour of a few can damage the quality of life of the community as a whole. Such problems need to be tackled as a priority so that we can achieve clean footpaths and play areas and zero tolerance for alcohol and drugs abuse, litter and speeding cars. I am also interested in the Grove airfield housing development and the many associated issues. I welcome the opportunity to become more involved in working to improve life in our community, through the parish council and to that end I serve on the Environmental Services and Planning Committees and also the Old Mill Hall Management Committee.
